Eleni Stavrou was born in Nicosia in 1975. She speaks Greek, English, French, Spanish and Arabic. She studied English Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and then obtained a Master’s degree in War Studies and Mediterranean Studies at the Royal College of London. She then obtained a PhD in Greek-Arab relations, relations with Israel and terrorism from the same university and a post-doctoral degree in the Israel-Cyprus-Greece axis from Bar Ilan University.

She was first elected as a Member of Parliament in the 2016 parliamentary elections with DISY and participated in the Parliamentary Committees on Defence, on Foreign and European Affairs, on Institutions, Values and Governance and on Environment.

Since 2022, she is a Member of the European Parliament in the Political Group of the European People’s Party and is participating in the Committees on Budgets, on Budgetary Control, on Development, on Economic Affairs and on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality.
