Maria Miltiadou
Maria Miltiadou, is the Deputy Executive Director of the Youth Board of Cyprus and at the same time she acts as the Director of the National Agency of the European youth programs in Cyprus. She started her career in 2003 and soon she was promoted to the Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and European programmes of the Youth Board of Cyprus. As the Head of the Department of the foreign relations and European programmes, represented Cyprus several times in its institutions and Committees of European Union, while in 2012 she played an important role in the organization of high-level events held in Cyprus when Cyprus took over the presidency of the EU back in 2012.
Maria Miltiadou has a 20-year career in the field of Youth and throughout these years she served the Youth Board of Cyprus from various positions of responsibility. She is a member of many Committees and Councils dealing with: youth issues focusing on education, training, employment and youth entrepreneurship. At the moment she is faced with a huge moment in her career since sha has been appointed by the Cyprus Presidency to highlight key messages in the field of youth and enhance cross-sectoral cooperation between Ministries in the field of youth. At the moment she is highly focused on her duties at the Youth Board of Cyprus and highly committed to her vision to see more governmental policies designed and implemented for young people, including those with fewer opportunities. She hopes that her role in the Cyprus Presidency will promote youth issues respectively, though participatory democracy and other inclusive tools. According to Maria participatory democracy is the healthiest and most creative form of policy development for our youth today.
