Asya recently graduated with her second master’s degree in European Political and Governance Studies. Being the first Turkish Cypriot scholarship student to finish the College of Europe. She studied at Université de Strasbourg and University Hacettepe beforehand. She has an excellent command of French, English, and Turkish. With experience as a Foreign Affairs Officer at the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry, a Schuman Trainee at the European Parliament Office in Cyprus, and an intern in the Negotiations Office during Mustafa Akıncı’s tenure, she currently works in the MEP Niyazi Kızılyürek’s office in European Parliament in Brussels. Asya is a part of various organizations, including the Global Policies Center, where she assumed the role of Secretary-General, and the European Union of Cypriot Students, where she founded and led a multicultural youth initiative. Most recently she organized the Cyprus & EU: Challenges and Opportunities event at the College of Europe and moderated a panel on EU, Green Line Regulation, and Trade.
