Kjartan Björnsson has been Head of Cyprus Settlement Support Unit in the Directorate General for Structural Reform Support (REFORM) since January 2017. The unit follows the Settlement talks. It is also responsible for the implementation of the Aid programme to the Turkish Cypriot community as well as for monitoring implementation of the Green Line Regulation. Previously, Kjartan was Deputy Head of Unit for regional cooperation and programmes, and he has served in the EU Delegations in Pristina and Sarajevo. He is a graduate in Economics of the University of Copenhagen, and holds a post-graduate degree in Economics from the University of Copenhagen.
